We carry all of the power we need inside ourselves already

I am looking at you
     this way
because I am trying to melt your face with my mind,
trying to destroy you in a most peculiar way –
     a most painful
and peculiar
          and wholly unforgettable
way

So don’t you turn from me just yet.

Keep your eyes opened, focused.

I want you to watch as they drop from your head,
     your eyes,
want to watch you watching yourself disintegrate,
want to watch you watching yourself pool into a gooey mess,
want you to write me a song about yourself as a gooey mess on the kitchen floor,
write me a murder ballad with piano and upright bass,
a ballad about how I melted your face with my mind –
my mind:
     pure hate,
willful annihilation.

    1. I’d take “When I hate that which hates, I’ve become that which hates…” one step further: When I hate that which hates, I’ve become that which hates and so hate the hate that’s become this great weight on my plate it’s now too late to obfuscate said hate which I can’t abate nor mutate to a thing less sedate so must calculate and calibrate the state of this hate and ensure beyond doubt that it mutates and violates any ingrates that speculate upon hate’s power to elevate and decimate one’s lovers and mates. -or something to that effect.

      1. Yup … I think … actually I understand what you’re saying here and in the poem better than I understand the blog I referenced, which seemed to want its cake and eat it. Being an atheist, I don’t want to spend my one life hating …
