Florimell’s Parallel

the rain fell up in ropy lines
     the day he finally left
the sun then froze a crystal blue
     the day he finally left
the insects sang a punk rock tune
     the day he finally left
the oak trees grew metallic spines
     the day he finally left
the day he finally left
     itchy lips kissed sticky pines
the day he finally left
     painted face a purple raccoon
the day he finally left
     tongue slurped sweet, dandelion stew
the day he finally left
     rainropes twisted and entwined

  1. Loving this poem. 🙂

    I like these lines:

the oak trees grew metallic spines
    the day he finally left
    the day he finally left
    itchy lips kissed sticky pines

Do you play guitar? or sing? If so, you should sing this. I picture you singing this poem. It feels lyrical and poetic at the same time. 🙂
