New View, by Eleanor Friedberger

Nothing here is as experimental as her work with her brother in The Fiery Furnaces, or even as “Inn of the Seventh Ray,” the repetitive, eerie, echoing second track on her solo debut, 2011’s “Last Summer.” Nor is anything as cleanly bouncy as “Last Summer’s” “When I Knew.” On “New View,” Friedberger’s taste for the sonically unusual bubbles up in subtler ways.
