Us v. Them

We are hurricanes
They are wildfires

We are plagues of locusts
They are storms of frogs

We are Anthrax
They are Ebola

We are tumors caused by cell phones
They are imbalanced microbiomes

We are fingers slammed in a car door
They are tongues burnt by hot soup

We are teeth scraping cold concrete
They are heads slamming through a windshield

We are every unanswered prayer
They are every campaign promise

Yes, we are earthquakes
And they, they are patient volcanoes

Us v. Them

  1. My favorite lines of yours:

    We are plagues of locusts
    They are storms of frogs

    We are Anthrax
    They are Ebola

Every line here is perfect and spot on!

The causes and destructive patience that is happening in our world today.
The empty promise that will be fixed is fallacy!

I love this poem Jason! Excellent writing. 🙂
