Next time you’re feeling blue just let a smile begin, happy things will come to you

Just like Smurfs, we scurry for the cover of mushrooms
at the slightest hint of a failed wizard. We are so blue.
None but us seem to understand the danger of a failed wizard.
     Enough misdirected power
and cobbled know-how inflict untold damages.
     Lives lustful, greedy –
smell of sweet sewage and sulfur.
Failed wizards try first to lure you
     in with nearness and dearness
but their wills are not so steadfast
to forever hold up such a facade.
You tell them, “So sorry, but that was the last MGD,”
and, “So very sorry, but that really truly was the last MGD.”
That’s when misspoken magical words and comes to your neighborhood an ignorant threat.
That’s when the lightening trolls and the flaming rhinos and the blood blizzards and the mosquito hurricanes.
What can we do but wait it out in our soft and spongy mushroom homes?
We are so blue, so scared, so teeny-tiny, prone to gettin’ squished.
What can we do every time but wait it out?
We are so blue and failed wizards are so tall and full of dusty robes and everyone else only turns the other cheek at their maniacal laughs and their yellow snaggleteeth.
We are just so blue.
Only so blue.
