Granada Rededication

From the UG/WYCO newsletter:

Roll Out the Red Carpet… The Screenland Granada will host a Red Carpet Rededication Ceremony on December 13 at 7pm. Butch and Marti Rigby, owners of the Screenland Granada, will be joined by Mayor Joe Reardon and community leaders for a free rededication ceremony of Kansas City’s only original “movie palace.” The Rigby’s purchased the Granada in April 2006 and re-opened it in July. The refurbished Granada, which originally opened in 1929, offers state-of-the-art features unparalleled by any other theatre in Kansas City. The Granada is equipped with a Spanish courtyard and décor, red velvet seats, a balcony, new digital sound system, stage, movie screen, full bar and of course, popcorn. It has been historically maintained and completely outfitted for the latest digital sound systems. Rigby also added new bathrooms for the 772 guests the theatre accommodates.
