What a gem of a flick.
So many famous lines, yet I never knew what the story was or anything else about the film, other than its status as a classic.
From the creepy, stylish and perfect, tone-setting opening to the amusing and quite unsettling close…Sunset Boulevard is worth your time and your mind. It’s an enjoyable, dark, funny, biting critique of Hollywood and all the phooey associated with the studio system – not to mention its broader exploration of the intersection of art and commerce.
AND
It’s narrated by a dead man.
Loverly noir. Highy recommended.
