Caught Team America last night. Made me giggle. The last third really dragged – but the puppet sex scene more than made up for it.

White Stripes Show To Air On NPR
Sep 07, 2005

NPR, best known for its news and cultural programming, is quickly becoming a bastion of good indie rock. Following Sufjan Steven’s NPR-commissioned tune “The Lord God Bird,” the White Stripes are the next hip act to garner an endorsement from the public radio giant, with a live performance set to broadcast as the first show in All Songs Considered’s Live Online Concert Series. In addition to the gig, which airs on September 27 from the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, sets from the Stripes’ established openers the Shins and M. Ward will be transmitted over the radio waves as part of the event. And if you miss out, the show will be archived online at www.npr.org for your repeated listening pleasure. Suddenly, that $200 totebag is starting to feel like it was worth it, no? If you would like to catch Jack and Meg in the flesh, you can choose from a fine assortment of dates that make up their current tour itinerary.

Now you can listen for yourself and see what the hell I was talking about a few weeks ago.

We’re geared up for Vegas next week. Sa Rah picked up our plane tickets last night. This trip is gonna be sick and I cannot wait.

We’re also thinking about our fall gardening tasks. We’re both very much into growing veggies and flowers and having a lovely, plant-filled yard – parental influence perhaps?
