Hey Wordslingers,
We’re having our monthly Cigar and Eyepatch Society meeting this coming Saturday, the 18th, from noon-3:30 PM at WJ McBride’s at 119th and Metcalf.

Don’t forget to bring the work you want critiqued in Oct. to this meeting. If you have something for us to look at this time, however, please post it to the message boards so that people can read beforehand.

Also, we’re now semi-affiliated with the Language, Literature, and Writing program at KU Edwards Campus. Thanks to Kyle for helping to get that hook-up. [What this means is that the director of the program filters interested students our way.-jpp]

I’m sending this e-mail to some folks who’ve never before attended one of our meetings in the hopes that they decide to come out to read and discuss some local, interesting writing. [And an extended invite to you, fellow bloggers and local web writers.-jpp]

See you all this weekend,

ps. I will probably have a work-in-progress posted in the next few days.

Do you ever meet in a more central location? I’m in the Northland, so southern Joco is pretty far away…

I just sent you this in an e-mail, but for those who might have a similar concern:

Well, we haven’t yet met in a more central location, but I don’t see why that has to be the norm. We do have one member who comes in from Lawrence so maybe at this meeting, we’ll talk about switching up the meeting places from time to time. What do you suggest?
